Rosemont, IL— Goalie Magnus Chrona stopped 40 shots to lead the Milwaukee Admirals to a 2-1 win over the Chicago Wolves Sunday at Allstate Arena.

Milwaukee allowed a season-high 41 shots in the game, but Chrona was almost perfect. He turned aside 18 shots in the first period alone. Chrona improved to 4-1-0 on the season and the Admirals moved into first place in the Central Division with 18 points (9-2-0-0).

Despite the Wolves outshooting the Admirals 18-6 in the first period, Milwaukee enjoyed a 1-0 lead after one frame. On the Admirals lone first period power play opportunity, Ozzy Wiesblatt was able to send a pass from the right corner to the front of the net. Kieffer Bellows jabbed the puck high into the net for his fifth goal of the season and second on the power play. Wiesblatt and Jake Lucchini were awarded the assists.

Reid Schaefer scored a breakaway goal at 1:18 of the third period which proved to be the game-winner. Joakim Kemell sprung Schaefer with a pass from the Admirals zone to the center line and Schaefer buried his team-leading seventh goal of the year. Kemell and Nick Blamkenburg earned the helpers.

Chicago found the back of the net for the first time at 10:39 of the thirds period when Skyler Brind’Amour tipped a Ryan Suzuki shot for his first goal of the season.

The Admirals return home to host Manitoba at 10:30 a.m. Wed., Nov. 13 at UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena.
