The Admirals concluded their five game homestand with a 5-2 loss against the Texas Stars Friday night at Panther Arena.

Scott Reedy scored his first goal as an Admiral, while Ozzy Wiesblatt tallied two points, with a goal and an assist to paste the Admirals offense.

After a quiet first period for the Admirals, Texas opened the scoring at the 10:53 mark as Jack Becker managed to shoot one over the glove of Matt Murray.

The Admirals found their response at 12:11 in the second period when Texas turned the puck over directly into the slot where Ozzy Wiesblatt was able to drag it into shooting range and find the back of the net, past former Admirals goalie Magnus Hellberg, settling the score to 1-1,

It wasn’t long before Cameron Hughes helped the Stars find control of the game, tallying 2 consecutive goals, one each in the second and third period, to extend the lead to 3-1.

Texas pushed their lead to 4-1 after a powerplay goal from Cole Lind with just under seven minutes to go in the game.

The Admirals got some life as Reedy was able to maneuver the puck around the post and poke it across the line at the 3:10 mark after Murray was pulled from the net making it 4-2.

However, the Stars put the game out of reach when Hughes found the puck with Murray back in the crease, tallied his third goal of the night, and made the final score 5-2.

The Admirals next five games are all away, kicking off on Sunday, January 12th at 4 in Rockford. The Admirals will return to Panther Arena on Wednesday, January 22nd against the Icehogs.
